Family Traditions – Configurations Book and Distress Paint
Here is a technique with the three metallic Distress Paints: Antiqued Bronze, Brushed Pewter and Tarnished Brass. Distress Paints are fluid water-based acrylic paints for multiple surfaces. The paint is designed to be reactive with water just like Distress Inks and Distress Stains. They have a convenient dabber system for easy and mess-free application. For this project I used the Configurations Book, various idea-ology Findings, charms and letters.
Distress Paint Letters
Dab Brushed Pewter and Tarnished Brass Distress Paint or Antiqued Bronze and Tarnished Brass to letters. Allow paint to blend. Spray water with Mini-Mister to facilitate blending. Set aside to dry.
Distress Paint Metal
Dab Antiqued Bronze and Tarnished Bras Distress Paint to metal embellishment. Allow paint to blend and set aside to dry.
Close Up of Box Insert with Painted Heart
A close-up image of the box insert with the painted heart embellishment. Adhere paper to box insert base and to side walls of box. Adhere diamond Tissue Tape to box border. Tie a string bow to top of heart and adhere the painted heart to box base.
This was a fun project that inspired creativity – hope you are inspired to alter embellishments with metallic Distress Paint.
