All you need is Love

This is a layout with stamping on Ranger Sticky-Back canvas and colouring with Distress Markers. Ranger Sticky-Back Canvas is a self-adhesive backed canvas paper that sticks to many surfaces. You can decorate the surface with paints, inks, markers, and stamps.  It can be cut it into desired shapes with scissors or most manual die cutting machines or print on canvas using an inkjet printer. I stamped the Dylusions oh-so-stylish Couture Collection clear stamps, ‘Man About Town’ and ‘Night at the Opera’ with Jet Black Archival Ink onto the Sticky-Back canvas.

Night at the Opera

Prime the Sticky-Back canvas surface with gesso. Set aside to dry. Prime the Sticky-Back canvas surface with gesso. Set aside to dry. Stamp image with Jet Black Archival Ink. Ink ‘skirt’ edges, neck and feet with Antique Linen Distress Ink using an ink blending tool. Colour with Tim Holtz Distress Markers. Distress Markers are dual-tipped markers with a brush nib on one end and a plastic detail nib on the other. You are able to blend two colours simply by swiping brush nibs together and colouring the area (this will not contaminate either marker). Begin colouring stamped image with colour of choice: Antique Linen, Spun Sugar, Frayed Burlap, Worn Lipstick, Walnut Stain or Victorian Velvet Distress Markers. Apply other colours to blend with first colour used. Blend colours with a detailer waterbrush. This self-feeding brush provides a perfect continuous flow of water when blending. When finished colouring stamped image, allow entire image to dry. Once canvas is dry, cut around edges of stamped image. Tie a piece of ribbon and tulle around waist. Add a paper rose. Add Platinum Pearl Liquid Pearls to ‘hemline’ of skirt. Set aside to dry.
