ABOUT KICHAKA RETREAT INFORMATION PACKAGE BOOKING FORM

Set among the hills of the Assegaai Bush valley in the malaria-free Eastern Cape, owner-managed, Kichaka is an exclusive, 5-star luxury lodge boasting just 10 beautifully appointed suites in the heart of a Big 5
game reserve. At Kichaka, service excellence is a given, not a goal ... and we pride ourselves on
attention to detail and tailor-making each guests’ stay to suit their individual wishes, interests and mood.

Activities on the reserve include Big 5 game viewing on open safari vehicles as well as fascinating guided bush walks with experienced rangers. In addition, guests can opt to enjoy the solitude and peaceful surroundings ... lounging at the pool, relaxing on their private viewing-deck overlooking the waterhole,
or perhaps being pampered by the resident massage therapist - whilst soaking up the sounds and scents
of the African bush.

Fine dining, complemented by premium wines from Kichaka’s comprehensive cellar, the highly trained
and professional staff, and all the mod-cons one would expect of a 5 star establishment, including wi-fi internet access throughout, all combine to make Kichaka a memorable luxury safari experience.

The main lodge at Kichaka is constructed in stone and thatch which blends seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. It overlooks a large water hole popular with hippo, giraffe, elephant and countless other game. The lounge and dining areas have been constructed to give the best possible aspect over unspoilt bush. Large terraces stretch over the waterhole & provide a magnificent viewing deck. The terrace also extends into a small island creating an enchanting outdoor dining area. Above the lounge is a library which overlooks the waterhole. This room provides a quiet place to curl up with your favorite book or catch your favourite sporting events which you can view on our flatscreen plasma TV. The main lodge & suites have complimentary, Wi-Fi internet facilities available to our guests.

The immediate camp area is secured by discreet electric fencing to ensure safety of guests and to deter elephants from destroying our trees. Being uniquely protected in this manner, Kichaka guests
are able to take advantage of the opportunity to walk freely around the camp and enjoy the local
flora and birdlife.

You can expect an exceptional level of comfort and luxury during your stay at Kichaka.  The exclusive suites at Kichaka have been built to provide every amenity. Attention to detail ensures unrivalled levels of sumptuous opulence. Each unique suite is named after the indigenous bush that surrounds it. Built of stone and thatch,
the suites are situated in secluded settings ensuring total privacy and a real sense of space. The
suites are connected to the main lodge by walkways which wind through the natural bush.

Each Suite provides spectacular views from the lounge & bedroom of each suite, Glass sliding doors open on 2 sides making rooms part of the surrounding bush, Outdoor Shower, Private plunge pools situated on secluded decks, Complimentary mini bar, Complimentary wireless internet access, 24 hour room service, Tea & coffee facilities, Air-conditioning & under floor heating throughout ...

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?
Although there is no formal dress code we do suggest neutral coloured clothing for game drives as these are less obtrusive in the bush. A warm, windproof jacket, scarf and gloves is useful for those cool early morning and evening drives.

WHAT ELSE SHOULD YOU BRING?
Cameras, binoculars and video cameras can all improve your game viewing experience, and help to capture that fantastic sighting for ever. Cameras with zoom lenses give better results and good digital cameras with optical zooms can take excellent pictures. Binoculars with wide fields if vision and magnification between 8x and 12x are ideal. Sunscreen is essential on game drives.
